Wasaga Beach is located at the southern portion of Georgian Bay and is part of Ontario's playground with Collingwood and Blue Mountain to the west. Wasaga Beach's motto “The Beach is just the beginning” rings true for residents, weekenders and tourists. From the beachfront of the Nottawasaga Bay (an inlet of Georgian Bay) to the cross country ski trails, this is a wonderful place to call home.

Wasaga Beach holds the title of being the world's longest freshwater beach and that suitable being the peak tourist season are the summer months. The beaches range in activities and some just offer the soft white sand and clear clean bay water. Beach Area 1 'the main end' offers the most activities with a splash pad, shoppes, restaurants, night life, and hosts events such as Corvette Weekend. Beach Area 1 is also great for people watching and bird watching, there are enclosed breeding sites for the the endangered Piping Plover. The beach areas are continuous however are most notable for Beach Area 2 wooden boardwalk, Beach Area 3 is dog friendly, and Beach Areas 4 & 5 with children's playgrounds. The beach is also the best place to take in the evening sunsets, from the sand, surf and view of the escarpment nothing beats a Wasaga Beach sunset.

Water activities are popular at the beachfront, and also the Nottawasaga River. There is a boat launch at Beach Area 1, and marinas located on the river for motorized boats and sea-doos. Nancy Island Historic Site serves as a museum and historic site with charred hull and artifacts of the HMS Nancy, a ship that battled in the War of 1812. Wasaga Under Siege, an annual mid-August event is the War of 1812 re-enactment including cannon and musket firing demos.

Neighbouring Wasaga Beach is Collingwood to the west, Tiny Township to the east and Clearview Township to the south. It's close proximity to Barrie and Highway 400, Wasaga Beach is also considered a great commuter area to live as it is close to the GTA and Muskoka.
